Most retail beef comes from a mix of many different animals, often processed and blended together before it ever reaches the store. When you buy direct from Spring Water Ranch, every cut in your freezer comes from a single cow — giving you traceability, consistency, and the peace of mind of knowing exactly where your beef came from.
On over 40 acres of open pasture, our cattle roam freely and thrive through a system of rotational grazing that keeps the land healthy and the forage diverse. In Colorado’s high country, they graze on mineral-rich grasses unique to higher elevations. Combined with careful finishing, this produces beef that’s naturally flavorful, well-balanced, and raised without shortcuts.
In contrast, much of today’s conventional beef is produced in feedlots where cattle are given daily rations with added antibiotics, testosterone implants to accelerate weight gain, and MGA to suppress natural cycles in heifers. These practices maximize efficiency, but not necessarily quality.
At Spring Water Ranch, we believe beef should be raised with care, not shortcuts — resulting in meat that’s healthier for the land, the animals, and your table.
Did you know much of the beef labeled “Product of the USA” can actually be imported from other countries, then simply repackaged here? Our beef is different. Every animal is born, raised, and butchered in Colorado — making it not just a true product of the USA, but proudly a product of Colorado from start to finish.
Our beef is dry-aged for 14 days — a traditional process that naturally tenderizes the meat and deepens its rich, beefy flavor. During this time, natural enzymes break down muscle fibers while the outer layer protects the meat, resulting in a smooth, buttery texture you simply won’t find in most supermarket beef.
By comparison, much of the beef sold in stores is never aged at all. Instead, it’s processed quickly, sprayed with chemical rinses to reduce bacteria, and frozen before being thawed for sale. It may look “fresh,” but it skips the time-honored steps that bring out true flavor.
With dry aging, less chemistry and more patience does the work — giving you beef that’s naturally safer, cleaner, and unmistakably delicious.
At Spring Water Ranch, we believe buying beef should be straightforward and stress-free. That’s why we cover the slaughter and processing fees, pick up your beef from our trusted USDA-certified processor, and personally deliver your freezer-ready, vacuum-sealed cuts right to your door. You pay only by the pound of packaged beef — no hidden costs, no surprises.
By working directly with a butcher we know and trust, we ensure consistent quality, clear communication, and a smooth experience. From pasture to plate, you deal only with us — the ranchers who raised your beef — for a process that’s transparent, reliable, and personal.| Share | Packaged Beef | 2025 $/lb (Packaged Beef) |

Many ranchers sell by “hanging weight,” leaving customers responsible for unexpected processing fees and communication with a butcher they don’t know. This often creates confusion — the customer thought they were buying from the rancher, but ends up navigating the final steps with someone else.
